ACCESS STATEMENT
Walla Crag holiday accommodation is located on a quiet street, five minutes walk from the centre of the market town of Keswick. There is ample, unrestricted on-street parking and the accommodation is part of a converted house, located on the top two floors.
Pre-Arrival
Bookings can be made via telephone, or via www.keswick.org website. Confirmation of the booking, along with our booking conditions, will be sent out on receipt of a deposit of £100 per week booked. The balance is due four weeks before, following which a letter will be sent with full directions, and instructions on how to obtain the keys. Correspondence can be via email if preferred.
On Arrival
After collecting the keys, which are located a five minute walk from the property or can be picked up on the way - there is a car park next to the key pickup point - the property is accessed up two steps at the front door, through a small porch and then via stairs to a first landing.
The Welcome Pack, with full details of everything within the property, is located on the table in the front lounge.
On the first floor landing, there is a bathroom and toilet, and another separate toilet. Turning to the right, there are three more steps to a further landing where there is the kitchen/dining room, lounge and a single bedroom.
Further stairs lead to the top floor, with a turn on the landing, where there is a floor to ceiling window, and there are three bedrooms here – two double, one single with room for a z bed.
FACILITIES
Bathroom – there is toilet, sink and walk in shower cubicle. The floor is carpeted, and there is a radiator on the left hand wall, with a towel rail just outside the walk-in shower. There is also a wicker chair.
Toilet – separate additional toilet is next door
Kitchen
Units are in u-shape at the left hand end of the room with wall units on two opposite walls and a large window at the end, with views to Skiddaw. There is a gas hob and electric oven. The fridge, freezer and microwave are all at a low level. There is table with six chairs at the opposite end of the room and the room is fully carpeted with hardwearing carpet.
Lounge
The lounge is next door to the kitchen. There is seating for 6 people on a corner settee, to the right as you enter the room and one table in the middle of the room. There is a fireplace with electric fire, and the TV and DVD player are located in the left hand corner. There is one sash window on the right hand wall, behind the settee.
Single Room
The first single room is located next door to the lounge. There is one bed with bedside table, which has the headboard directly beneath the sash window on the wall immediately opposite the door. There is a built in wardrobe to the right of the door as you walk in and the bed is accessible from one side only. There is also a mirror and shelf with a plug socket directly beneath.
Double Bedroom 1
At the top of the next set of stairs, the first double bedroom is immediately to the left. The double bed is accessible from both sides, and the window is a velux, immediately above the bed. The sink is behind the door and there is a built in wardrobe next to it. There are also two bedside cabinets.
Double Bedroom 2
Immediately opposite the first double bedroom, is bedroom 2. The double bed has the headboard on the right hand wall, immediately in front of the door and is accessible from both sides. The window is to the right of the bed and is at the front of the house, overlooking Church Street. The sink is behind the door and there is a built in wardrobe next to it, and two bedside cabinets.
Single Bedroom
This room is to the right of the 2nd double bedroom, again at the front of the house. The bed is located immediately to the left of the door and is accessible from one side only, the sink is on the right hand wall, towards the end of the room. There is a built in wardrobe to the left of the window and room for an extra z-bed if necessary, which can go with the head under the window, pointing into the room.
Additional Information
All windows are original sash windows, opened by sliding upwards, apart from one Velux window in one bedroom and the small window in the bathroom, which opens outwards as normal.
The property is full carpeted throughout in the same hardwearing blue carpet.
There are smoke detectors and emergency lighting.
There is a fire extinguisher in the kitchen.
There is no separate fire escape – access would be via the first landing window on to a roof and down to the ground. This is explained in the Welcome Pack left at the property.
